Eoin Finn has been a disciple of Yoga, Eastern and Western philosophy, martial arts and meditation since 1987 and has been teaching Yoga for over a decade.

First introduced to Yoga while at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Finn discovered the benefits of yoga as a great warm up to extreme sports such as mountain biking, surfing and windsurfing. From there, Finn’s travels to France, Hawaii and Japan developed his yoga practice, eventually leading to his committment to teaching, sharing and promoting yoga, health and bliss.

Deemed as one of Vancouver’s best yoga instructors, Finn’s popularity has spun itself into a successful yoga and wellness portal-site, vancouveryoga.com , his Platinum-level Power Yoga DVD in 2001, bestselling, Platinum-level Power Yoga for Happiness DVD in 2003 and the recent Pure & Simple Yoga DVD in 2006.

A believer in the power of yoga to be a powerful catalyst for social change, Finn co-founded North America’s largest yoga-focused fundraiser. Known as the Camp Moomba Yogathon & Blissfest, 2007 will see the 5th Annual Yogathon in Vancouver, BC, bringing together more than 1500 yogis to raise funds for Summer Camp for children impacted by HIV and AIDS accross Canada. Based on the principles of cooperation not competition, the event has brought together local “competing” companies, sustainable product manufacturers and features local, organic food, great entertainment and fun keeping alive the values of Yoga, Bliss and Community.

Finn is also the founder of the “Positive Force Yoga System,” a systematic, logical yoga alignment program that also presents a framework for a yogic lifestyle. The Positive Force System fuses the idea of traditional Yogic values, which emphasize energy and exploration of consciousness with Western evidence-based, scientific sensibilities. Yoga, when practiced with this awareness becomes fluid therapy, movement guided by the innate knowledge of our anatomy and evolution.

He has also conducted numerous YES (Yoga, Ecology and Surf) Retreats around the world, sharing his deep respect and love for nature and yoga with his students.

Eoin’s teaching offers a heart-opening, invigorating and experiential practice that is grounded with humor, dynamism and a focus on alignment. He thanks many teachers who have inspired him along the way including many of the great Ashtanga yoga teachers of Maui, especially Nadia Toraman, Vijnana Yogis: Gioia Irwin and Orit Sen-Gupta; Structural Integration Therapists Mark Finch and Tom Myers; and Body Mind Psychotherapist Susan Aposhyan.

He now resides between Vancouver and Canada's surf mecca, Ucluelet, BC with the love of his life, Insiya Rasiwala.
